Hezbollah "Party of Allah" or "Party of God" is a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and paramilitary group, led since 1992 by its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah's paramilitary wing is the Jihad Council, and its political wing is the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc party in the Lebanese Parliament. Its armed strength is assessed to be equivalent to that of a medium-sized army.

Hezbollah's new political document was published in December 2009:

We refer here to its translation and analysis, the fruit of a conclave lasting over four months and bringing together several thousand party executives and members. While the world is still divided along the lines of the Khomeinist duality of "oppressed versus oppressors" (mustad'afîn/mustakbirîn), in a verve reminiscent of liberation theology, Hezbollah calls for the union of all the oppressed and declares its opposition to an ultraliberal economy. Nor is there any change in its conception of Israel as a "Zionist entity", its support for the Palestinian cause or its denunciation of American global hegemony. Relations with the European Union, on the other hand, have undergone a qualitative change, with Hezbollah calling on Europeans to adopt an objective approach to its affairs, independent of that of the United States.
